Special Thanks

I’d like to thank the many people that have helped me with my build.

Greg – without your help and your CNC machine there is absolutely no way I successfully build my R2 unit.  I can never thank you enough for everything you’ve done, I’ll try to give back to the community since you won’t take anything else for all the help you’ve given me.  You sir are a truly dedicated builder that has given so much to me and the community.  If there is anything I can do for you please let me know.

Izzy – you are equally responsible for me being successful.  I can’t count the number of times I had to call you, you stopped over, you ordered parts, you fixed things (soldering!!!), and heck you even lent me your controller when mine was on the fritz and I wanted to show off my R2 for the family party.  Again, like Greg I can not thank you enough.  If I hadn’t seen your original R2 up close, and knew that you’d be there to back me up – I’d never would have tried.  Of course it helps that our wives are friends too – so they can commiserate together!  Thanks!

Dave – thanks for developing the styrene plans that my R2 is based off of.  I can tell a lot of work and effort went into the design.  I tweaked it a little, to make it my own, but in reality to fix a lot of mistakes I made or due to unavailability of parts.  The instructions were clear, even if I didn’t always read them fully.  Thank you personally, but also from the main droids that are based off your design.

Dan – thanks for your help on the Padawan system, not only for the time you’ve put in to design the system for the personal help when I was having controller issues.

Kixxo – thanks for all the input, and being the first styrene build that I knew of.  Hopefully others in DCSWCC will follow your lead.

Mike – thanks for the inspiration, the parts and the friendship.

Fellow Styrene Builders – for all the builders that hand cut the styrene for their droids, you have my admiration.  There is absolutely no way I could have pulled that off, I know I was spoiled with the CNC pieces from Greg, and trust me I appreciate those that did it the manual way.

To all the R2 Builders that contributed to the hobby, especially those that run Astromech.net and the R2Builders group.  There is so much helpful information out there, and everyone seems genuinely there to help others.  Keep it up and I hope I can give back.
